Sunday Review

sunday review on KREM Belize

This is a popular weekly Talk Show hosted by Carolyn “Yaya” Marin Coleman, who is assisted by Samiyyah Andrewin-Miranda. They interview grassroots, community leaders and government representatives about burning national issues. Listeners have an opportunity to call-in and actively participate in the discussion. On a regular basis, Yaya invites editors from the various media organizations (print, television and radio) in Belize for their perspectives on the week’s biggest headline stories. No other media house can boasts of a show of such openness and distinct diversity. The show is simulcast on KREM FM and KREM TV from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon each Sunday morning.

About KREM
The idea for the KREM Radio station originated in early 1979 while Rufus X and I were visiting New Orleans. There was a New Orleans deejay I liked, by the name of Sister Love, and one day Rufus and his cousin, Sam Wiley, who was our host, showed me the building where the radio station which featured Sister Love was located. It was quite a modest, one flat structure, much smaller than the three story Albert Cattouse Building from where the Belize government monopoly station – Radio Belize – was broadcasting.
